Pickup from your Marrakech hotel. Scenic 90-minute drive to Imlil (1,740m). Meet your licensed mountain guide and mule team.
Trek through the Ait Mizane Valley — past Aremd village to the shrine of Sidi Chamarouch beside its waterfall. Picnic lunch. Continue climbing to the Toubkal Refuge (3,207m) — Les Mouflons or Club Alpin. Dormitory accommodation. Settle in — this is your base for the next 3 nights.
This is the unique advantage of the 4-day format. After breakfast at the refuge, climb the Ouanakrim twin peaks — visible from the refuge and part of the Toubkal massif. This dedicated altitude training climb tests your body at high altitude, gives you panoramic views of the Toubkal summit from a different angle, and builds confidence for tomorrow's push.
Return to the refuge for dinner and your second night at 3,207m. By now your body has spent two full days adjusting to altitude. You know how you feel at height. You know if your gear works. You're as prepared as any trekker on the mountain. Rest well — tomorrow is summit day.
Early start. The route follows the south cirque — scree and boulders in summer, packed snow and ice in winter (crampons + ice axe). After 2 days at 3,207m, your body is well-acclimatized. 3–4 hours to the summit — 4,167 metres. The iconic triangular marker. 360° views over the Atlas Mountains, the Sahara, and the Marrakech plain. ~45 minutes on top.
Descend to the refuge for lunch and your third night. Unlike the 2-day and 3-day treks, you don't need to descend all the way to Imlil today. You rest at the refuge — recover, celebrate, and prepare for tomorrow's easy descent.
After breakfast, descend at a relaxed pace — past Sidi Chamarouch shrine and through the Ait Mizane Valley back to Imlil (1,740m). Lunch in Imlil. Your driver is waiting for the transfer back to Marrakech — arriving with the evening free. Four days. One summit. Maximum preparation. Trek complete.

"The Ouanakrim day was the smartest decision. By summit morning I felt completely adjusted — no headache, no nausea, just confidence. The sunrise from 4,167m in winter was the most spectacular thing I've ever seen. Our guide was exceptional at reading the weather and conditions. Worth every extra day."
"We did this in January — full winter conditions. Crampons, ice axe, -15°C at the summit. The 4-day format was essential. Day 3 had bad weather so our guide moved the summit to Day 4 instead. Without that flexibility we wouldn't have made it. The sunrise summit was unforgettable. Professional and safe."
"This was my first big mountain and I'm so glad I chose the 4-day. The Ouanakrim climb on Day 2 showed me I could handle the altitude. The refuge is basic but the lounge has a fireplace and the food was surprisingly good. Summit day felt manageable because I'd had time to adjust. Highly recommend this format."
"The 4-day is the way to go if you're serious about summiting. The 2-day is too fast for most people. The 3-day goes through valleys you don't need if your goal is the peak. The 4-day gives you what matters: time at altitude, an acclimatization climb, and a weather buffer. Our guide Mohamed made it perfect."
"Booked the 4-day specifically for winter. The crampons and ice axe were rented in Imlil for almost nothing. The snow made the climb harder but more beautiful. Standing at the summit marker with snow everywhere and the sun rising — I'll never forget it. The extra acclimatization day was absolutely the right call."
