Day by Day
Six days from Casablanca to Marrakech — imperial cities, Roman ruins, the Fes Medina, the Sahara, gorges, kasbahs, and the High Atlas. Because it's private, every stop is adjustable.
Your driver meets you at Casablanca Mohamed V Airport (or your hotel). First stop: the architectural masterpiece of the Hassan II Mosque — the second-largest mosque in the world, built on the edge of the Atlantic. Photo stop and exterior visit.
Drive north to Chefchaouen, nestled in the Rif Mountains. Arrive late afternoon and settle into your riad in the medina. The evening is yours — stroll the blue-washed alleyways, photograph the famous doorways, and find a rooftop cafe with mountain views. Dinner at the riad.
A leisurely morning to explore Chefchaouen in daylight — the blue medina, the Spanish mosque viewpoint, and the local artisan shops. Grab some photos in the famous blue stairways.
Drive to the Volubilis Roman ruins — a UNESCO World Heritage Site with remarkably preserved mosaics and columns dating to the 3rd century BC. Continue to Fes, arriving in time for dinner at your riad in the heart of the medina.
A full day exploring the Fes Medina with a local guide — the world's largest car-free urban area and one of the best-preserved medieval cities on earth. Visit the Royal Palace (exterior), the Al-Qarawiyyin University (the world's oldest functioning university, founded 859 AD), the famous Chouara tanneries, and the artisan souks — metalwork, leather, ceramics, and textiles. Lunch in the medina at a traditional restaurant. Dinner tonight is at your leisure — explore independently or return to the riad.
Depart Fes and drive through the Middle Atlas Mountains. Stop at Ifrane — Morocco's "Little Switzerland" — then into the cedar forests of Azrou to spot the Barbary macaques.
Lunch in Midelt, then descend through the stunning Ziz Valley — date palms, fortified kasbahs, and dramatic cliffs as the desert approaches.
Arrive at Merzouga. Mount your camel for a sunset trek across the Erg Chebbi dunes. Arrive at your luxury desert camp — private ensuite tent with hot shower, real beds, and electricity. Moroccan dinner under the stars, Berber drumming, and crystal-clear night skies.
Wake early for a sunrise camel ride back over the dunes. Breakfast at camp. Drive to Rissani — birthplace of Morocco's Alaouite dynasty — and visit the local dates market.
Continue to the Tinghir oasis for a walk along the riverbank, then into the dramatic Todra Gorge — 300m limestone cliffs. Lunch at the gorge.
Drive the Road of a Thousand Kasbahs to the Dades Valley. Dinner and overnight at Hotel Babylon.
Drive through the Valley of the Roses and the Skoura oasis. Visit Kasbah Amridil — a perfectly restored private museum showcasing Berber architecture. Continue to Ouarzazate.
Visit the iconic Aït Ben Haddou — a UNESCO World Heritage Site and filming location for Gladiator and Game of Thrones. Cross the river with a guide to explore the village. Lunch nearby.
Cross the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n'Tichka Pass (2,260m). Arrive in Marrakech late afternoon. Drop-off at your hotel or riad — the end of six extraordinary days across Morocco.
