Day by Day
Two days from Marrakech through the Atlas, past Telouet and Aït Ben Haddou, to the hidden Fint Oasis. Because it's private, every stop is adjustable.
Depart Marrakech at 08:00 AM, driving southeast through the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n'Tichka pass (2,260 m). Scenic stops at Berber villages along the way. Your first stop is the mountain village of Telouet, home to the historic Glaoui Kasbah — the crumbling palace of Thami El Glaoui, the last great Pasha of Marrakech. The interior's stunning zellige tilework, carved stucco, and painted cedar ceilings are a rare glimpse of Moroccan grandeur (note: the palace may have limited access following the 2023 earthquake — your driver will confirm on the day). From Telouet, you take the spectacular Ounila Valley road — a scenic back route through red-earth Berber hamlets, terraced fields, and fortified granaries that most tourists never see.
The Ounila Valley road delivers you directly to the UNESCO-listed Ksar of Aït Ben Haddou. A local Berber guide (included) walks you through the labyrinthine passageways of this iconic fortified village — a backdrop for Gladiator, Game of Thrones, and Lawrence of Arabia. After the visit, continue to Ouarzazate for lunch, with an optional stop at Atlas Film Studios or the Taourirt Kasbah.
A short 15 km drive south from Ouarzazate brings you to the hidden Fint Oasis — a dramatic palm-filled canyon carved by the Fint River into red and ochre rock. This off-the-beaten-path gem has traditional Berber villages, irrigated terraces, and a tranquillity that busier destinations can't match.
Wake to birdsong in the oasis. Take a morning walk through Fint's palm groves and along the valley — meet local residents tending their irrigated gardens, watch traditional daily life unfold in this timeless Berber community, and enjoy the early light painting the canyon walls in warm reds and golds. Return to your guesthouse for a traditional Moroccan breakfast, then meet your driver.
Drive north to the Skoura Oasis — one of southern Morocco's most beautiful palm oases, dotted with over 700 kasbahs including the photogenic Kasbah Amridil. Continue to Ouarzazate for a visit to the Taourirt Kasbah and lunch at leisure.
Cross the High Atlas via the Tizi n'Tichka pass one final time. Arrive back in Marrakech late afternoon. Your driver drops you at your hotel or riad.
