Day by Day
Two days from Marrakech to the Zagora desert and back. A fixed group itinerary that runs daily — same proven route, every departure.
The minibus collects the group from Marrakech hotels and riads around 07:30 AM. Drive southeast into the High Atlas Mountains, climbing through Berber villages and almond groves to the Tizi n'Tichka pass (2,260m). Photo stops along the way.
The group visits UNESCO-listed Aït Ben Haddou — the iconic fortified village used in Gladiator and Game of Thrones. Walk the earthen alleyways, climb for panoramic views, and grab the classic photo from across the river. Continue through Ouarzazate for lunch (own expense).
Drive south past the Anti-Atlas and the village of Agdez into the Draa Valley — Morocco's longest oasis. Hundreds of thousands of date palms, fortified kasbahs, and fields of corn, barley, and henna line the road toward Zagora.
Wake early for a sunrise camel ride — a peaceful start as the light creeps across the desert. Return to camp for a Moroccan breakfast, then board the minibus for the return journey.
Drive back through the Draa Valley to Ouarzazate. The group visits the Taourirt Kasbah — a former palace complex with intricate designs. Time for lunch at a local restaurant (own expense).
Cross the High Atlas via the Tizi n'Tichka pass. Arrive back in Marrakech early evening (typically 6–7 PM). The driver drops the group at hotels and riads.

"For €69 this was incredible value. The camel ride at sunset was peaceful and surreal, the camp dinner was authentic, and the night sky was like nothing I've seen before. Yes, it's a lot of driving, but the Draa Valley scenery makes it worthwhile."
"Travelled solo and met great people from all over the world. The group vibe around the campfire was amazing. Aït Ben Haddou was stunning, and the Draa Valley drive was one of the most beautiful stretches of road I've ever seen. Budget-friendly and unforgettable."
"Perfect for backpackers who want to see the desert without breaking the bank. Our driver was knowledgeable and friendly. The camp was basic but comfortable — exactly what you need for one night under the stars. We upgraded to the luxury camp and it was worth every euro."
"This shared desert tour was one of the highlights of our Morocco trip. The price is unbeatable, the group was fun, and sharing stories around the campfire made the experience so much richer than going alone. Zagora's desert may not have huge dunes but the atmosphere is incredible."
