Practical Info

Know Before You Go

Driving Time

~7 hours each way (Marrakech ↔ Zagora), not including stops. The route passes through stunning scenery with regular comfort and photo breaks.

Desert Type

Zagora is a flat, rocky desert with small sand dunes. Beautiful and tranquil, but not the towering dunes of Merzouga. For big dunes, consider our 3-day Merzouga tour.

What to Pack

Small backpack for the camel ride (main luggage stays in the vehicle). Hat, sunglasses, sunscreen. Wear jeans or long trousers for the camel trek. Warm layers for desert evenings.

Camp Facilities

Comfortable camp: private tent, shared bathrooms with hot water. Bring your own towel and toiletries. Luxury upgrade: ensuite tent with hot shower, towels and toiletries provided.

Electricity

The camp has electricity in public areas and the restaurant for charging devices — not inside tents (comfortable camp). Luxury camp tents have outlets.

Winter Warning

The Zagora desert gets very cold at night in winter. Bring warm sleeping clothes. Blankets are provided at camp but pack extra layers.

"Travelling with our 6-year-old, the private tour was ideal. Our driver was incredibly patient, stopped whenever she needed a break, and made the camel ride feel safe and fun. The camp dinner under the stars was magical — she still talks about it."

"Yes, Zagora is not the big dunes of Merzouga — but the Draa Valley drive was stunning, the camp was authentic, and the sunrise over the desert was unforgettable. If you only have two days, this tour delivers the essence of Morocco's desert."
