Day by Day
Two days from Marrakech through the Atlas, the Draa Valley, and into the Zagora desert. Because it's private, every stop is adjustable.
Depart Marrakech at 07:30 AM, driving southeast through the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n'Tichka pass (2,260m). Scenic stops at Berber villages along the way — your driver knows the best viewpoints.
Explore the UNESCO-listed Kasbah of Aït Ben Haddou with a local Berber guide — the iconic fortified village and filming location for Hollywood epics. Continue to Ouarzazate for lunch.
Drive south past the Anti-Atlas Mountains and the Berber village of Agdez into the Draa Valley — Morocco's longest oasis, with hundreds of thousands of date palms, fortified kasbahs, and henna plantations stretching to the horizon.
Wake early for a sunrise camel ride across the desert — the light spreading across the flat terrain as the day begins. Return to camp for a Moroccan breakfast, then meet your driver for the return journey.
Drive back through the Draa Valley to Ouarzazate. Visit the Taourirt Kasbah — a former palace complex — and optionally explore Atlas Film Studios, the "Hollywood of Africa." Lunch at leisure.
Cross the High Atlas via the Tizi n'Tichka pass one final time. Arrive back in Marrakech late afternoon. Your driver drops you at your hotel or riad.

Know Before You Go
Driving Time
~7 hours each way (Marrakech ↔ Zagora), not including stops. The route passes through stunning scenery with regular comfort and photo breaks.
Desert Type
Zagora is a flat, rocky desert with small sand dunes. Beautiful and tranquil, but not the towering dunes of Merzouga. For big dunes, consider our 3-day Merzouga tour.
What to Pack
Small backpack for the camel ride (main luggage stays in the vehicle). Hat, sunglasses, sunscreen. Wear jeans or long trousers for the camel trek. Warm layers for desert evenings.
Camp Facilities
Comfortable camp: private tent, shared bathrooms with hot water. Bring your own towel and toiletries. Luxury upgrade: ensuite tent with hot shower, towels and toiletries provided.
Electricity
The camp has electricity in public areas and the restaurant for charging devices — not inside tents (comfortable camp). Luxury camp tents have outlets.
Winter Warning
The Zagora desert gets very cold at night in winter. Bring warm sleeping clothes. Blankets are provided at camp but pack extra layers.

"We embarked on an incredible 2-day adventure led by our guide, Mohamed. From the breathtaking Atlas Mountains to the enchanting Draa Valley and the mesmerising Zagora desert — each destination left us in awe. The camel ride in the Sahara felt incredibly special."
"Perfect for our short trip to Morocco. Only had two days to spare and this tour packed in everything — Aït Ben Haddou, the Draa Valley, a sunset camel ride, and a night under the stars. Having our own 4×4 meant we could stop wherever we wanted."
"Travelling with our 6-year-old, the private tour was ideal. Our driver was incredibly patient, stopped whenever she needed a break, and made the camel ride feel safe and fun. The camp dinner under the stars was magical — she still talks about it."
"Yes, Zagora is not the big dunes of Merzouga — but the Draa Valley drive was stunning, the camp was authentic, and the sunrise over the desert was unforgettable. If you only have two days, this tour delivers the essence of Morocco's desert."
